Howard Davner Launches Provieo, an AI Platform That Helps Job Seekers Prove Their Skills

WEST ORANGE, N.J. — Provieo, an AI platform that helps job seekers demonstrate what they can actually do, today announced its public launch. Founded by entrepreneur and finance veteran Howard Davner, Provieo is built on a simple conviction: in a market flooded with résumés, the people who get hired are the ones who can show their work.

The platform addresses a problem that has quietly gotten worse for years. Job seekers — especially students and early-career candidates — send out dozens or hundreds of applications and hear almost nothing back. The résumé, the document the entire process runs on, has become a weak signal: everyone's lists the same polished bullet points, and employers have little reliable way to tell who can genuinely do the job.

Provieo flips that dynamic from describing skills to demonstrating them. A user pastes in a real job description for a role they want. Provieo then helps them build a genuine, working AI project designed around exactly what that employer is hiring for — most are completed in well under two hours. The finished project lives on a shareable profile with a live demo, so the candidate can drop a single link into any application. Instead of a line that reads "proficient in Python," a recruiter can click through and see something real the candidate built and can speak to.

"For most of my career, I evaluated people and businesses by what they had actually done — not by how well they described themselves on paper," said Howard Davner, founder of Provieo. "That instinct is the whole idea behind Provieo. Proof beats promises. We want to give people a way to compete on what they can build, not on whose names happen to be on their résumé."

Davner brings an unusual vantage point to the hiring problem. Over more than two decades in finance and capital markets, and later as a consumer-products entrepreneur and CEO of Beverage USA Holdings, he repeatedly saw the gap between how candidates looked on paper and how they actually performed. Provieo is his attempt to close that gap with technology that has only recently become possible.

The timing is deliberate. Advances in AI now make it realistic for a motivated beginner to ship a working application that would have required a small team only a few years ago — yet the hiring process still screens people through a format that hides their best evidence. Provieo is designed to meet that moment, with a particular focus on opening doors for candidates who can clearly do the work but lack the connections or pedigree to get noticed.

"Pedigree-based hiring compounds advantage — the people who already had access get more access," Davner added. "Proof-based hiring opens a door for the person who can do the job but never got the early break. It doesn't lower the bar. It moves the bar to the right place."
